Frank Ocean – Sweet LIFE

The Odd future crooner has been in the minds of many music fans as of late. His coming out as a bisexual on Independence Day sent shockwaves through the media, and the music community at large. The overflowing support for his decision, to not only come out, but the lifestyle he chooses, has been admirable. I would like to say, that in light of all this, it is Frank’s music, that should always been the first thing we, as fans should focus on. This is the newest release, from his heavily anticipated new album “Channel Orange”. Produced by The Neptune’s, you can already feed your iPod with this one.

Tyler, The Creator & Domo Genesis – Sam Is Dead (Official Video)

This is about as serious a video you are going to get, when Tyler not only stars, but directs a video of warfare. In the latest visuals from the enigmatic, sometimes polarizing group, Tyler, and Domo find themselves in a 70’s style war film, with it taking a pretty serious tone, until of course, Tyler makes his presence felt. While it takes a more “Odd Future” like tone once he captures the screen, like he usually does, it does not distract from the video entirely. The song featured in the visual, can be found on the compilation album “OF Tape, Vol. 2” which you can purchase from any store; or, your digital outlet of choice.

Hody Beats – fordabitches

Frank was not the only member of the infamous Odd Future camo to drop something yesterday. Eccentric, unpredictable, and always improving Hodgy Beats- while there is no word on his solo album or the long-awaited “Numbers” album from MELLOWHYPE- drops a smooth joint, featuring a sample from one D’angelo; you could never go wrong with that, in my opinion. While the title is not one I like to repeat (was raised by my momma after all) I still think it is a song, that the fairer gender will appreciate… maybe.

Frank Ocean – Pryamids

It seems that after what seemingly was an endless battle with patience, Odd Future’s crooner, the magnetic Frank Ocean is set to release a full length project. July 17th is the date for his Def Jam debut “Channel Orange”. This is his first single, and it seems ready to take over radio, and your homegirl’s playlist. It is about time Frank got ready to take his place in the spotlight; artist like himself deserve it.

Two of the Odd Future most frequent music providers link up once again. This time around they both abuse a chill, yet hardcore beat provided by Lex Lugar.

Just in case you happened to miss the live stream yesterday on YouTube, the Odd Future singer/songwriter’s full set can be viewed here for your listening, and visual pleasure.

Earl Sweatshirt on Hot 97 with Peter Rosenberg (First Interview EVER)

Tyler, The Creator, Taco, and of course: Earl Sweatshirt hit up the Hot97 studios for an interview with Peter Rosenberg. The Hot97 radio personality has been one of the most vocal supporters of Odd Future, so it would only be fitting that the first interview ever, would be conducted by Peter Rosenberg.

Frank Ocean – White

With the “ODD FUTURE Vol. 2” being released next week. It is a safe bet that to garner people’s attention to the album, even the most cynical of GolfWang’s critics, is to have Frank Ocean have a solo. This track is under two minutes long, and I found myself playing it two or three more times, because I did not want to lose the vibe I was getting. Simple instrumental, Frank lets his voice make the music, which is what he usually does. With each track, the anticipation for his solo grows expotentially.
